What do i wear?

For oil massages, we recommend underwear or whatever makes you comfortable—just remember, oil works best on skin. For Thai massages, opt for loose, comfy clothes like cotton trackies or a t-shirt. Avoid tight or synthetic fabrics. Still unsure? Drop us a line, and we’ll help you feel at ease.

Before and after ... How do I get the best out of my massage?

 

Before: Preparation matters. Avoid heavy meals for at least two hours; a light snack like a banana works best. Skip caffeine beforehand to keep your muscles calm. Bonus points for a shower or hot bath before arriving—it helps you relax, enhancing your massage. Steer clear of family drama or intense workouts right before—come in calm, and your body will thank you.

After: Post-massage, soak in the relaxation. If possible, take the day off. A hot bath later is a great idea, but go easy on the wine—it’ll hit harder than usual. No drinking and driving! Stay hydrated, skip caffeine a bit longer, and savour the glow. Relaxation isn’t just part of the process—it’s the goal.

 

How much water?

Water keeps your muscles supple and ready for massage, like a well-hydrated sponge. For a few days beforehand, sip water, herbal tea, or similar (nothing rhyming with "gin and tonic"). Avoid overdoing it just before your session—dashing to the loo mid-massage isn’t relaxing. Stay hydrated, and your muscles will thank you!

When shouldn't i have a massage?

Before booking a massage, consult your doctor if you have conditions like heart issues, blood pressure extremes, recent surgery, diabetes, skin conditions, or cancer. Other cases include blood clots, autoimmune disorders, epilepsy, unexplained pain, or recent injuries.

No-Go Conditions

 

Massage isn’t suitable for pregnancy, active infections, open wounds, fractures, severe heart issues, unstable diabetes, intoxication, or acute injuries. When in doubt, always check with a medical professional first.

We’re masseurs, not medics—we don’t diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions. Our focus is delivering exceptional, tailor-made massages with decades of expertise in the art and science of relaxation.

Unlike some spas that collect medical forms to seem more professional, we avoid what isn’t our role. If there’s something we should know, just tell us, and we’ll adapt to ensure your comfort and safety. For anything beyond muscles and tension, we defer to your GP, consultant, or physio.
